The health of the people of Réunion is at the heart of the actions of the CLINIFUTUR healthcare group, one of the top 10 private healthcare groups in France, which supports the patients who place their trust in us throughout their lives, giving them access to high-quality care. Human health is inextricably linked to the preservation of our environment in the broadest sense (OneHealth concept).
This is why environmental health has been part of our projects and the involvement of our professionals for many years, particularly at the Clinique Les Orchidées, the largest surgical producer in the West of France, which also has a maternity unit. In concrete terms, the objectives for the people of Reunion are: to take account of the environment and preserve it, to use resources sensibly, and to enable today's children to appreciate the world of tomorrow.
The innovative projects carried out by the group were rewarded among Reunion's initiatives in favour of the environment at the MEDEF Business Awards 2024, for the ‘Coup de coeur’ prize in the remarkable companies category:
- EDF's electricity curtailment scheme enables the electricity system to better manage intermittency (photovoltaic, production unit breakdown, etc.), thanks to the curtailment of power at the Clinique Les Orchidées. This action, paid for by EDF Réunion, avoids blackouts or load shedding in Réunion households if electricity production is strained.
- The solution of washable nappies set up 5 years ago in the Women, Family and Fertility Unit of the Les Orchidées Clinic (formerly the Jeanne d'Arc maternity hospital), which became the 1st maternity hospital on the island to win the ‘1000 premiers jours’ award to offer this service. This offer, aimed at future parents in the clinic's care, enables them to test the system free of charge and reduce more than 2 tonnes of waste per year at the clinic.
- For the extent of CSR actions across all the Group's establishments.
Congratulations to the teams involved, whose dedication has led to this recognition on La Réunion and to publicity for the group and in particular for the Clinique Les Orchidées and its Maternity Unit.
