With almost 900 babies born each year at the Women-Family-Fecundity Unit and 800 In Vitro Fertilisations carried out by the Centre d'Aide Médicale à la Procréation du Port, support for future parents in the West sector in their parenthood project is evolving in line with public health issues.
Pregnancy monitoring provides personalised support for expectant parents throughout the process. The clinic's staff offer a range of free, comprehensive treatments, including relaxation therapy, sex therapy, help with smoking cessation, micronutrition, obesity and overweight monitoring, osteopathic care, physical and sports activities, psychological support and childbearing. The clinic works in partnership with the Kaz Ti Moun du Port parent-child drop-in centre, offering (future) parents free monthly events and workshops.
The Women-Family-Fecundity Unit at the Les Orchidées Clinic is a level 2A maternity unit: an anaesthetist-intensive care doctor and a gynaecologist are on duty 24 hours a day, and a paediatrician is on call. It has a kangaroo unit and a neonatology department, and is equipped with modern facilities such as a natural room with a dilatation bath for safe, physiological childbirth.
The hotel focuses on comfort, with double and single rooms, including four family rooms available with the possibility of accommodating an older child under the age of 6 during their stay. Future parents are supported in their birth plans. The Maternity Unit is committed to the environment, and has been awarded the eco-friendly label for a number of years. It also guarantees access to perinatal care through its Permanence d'Accès aux Soins de Santé (Health Care Access Permanence) to combat poverty.
