Sex therapy in a nutshell

For most women and half of men, pregnancy brings with it problems with desire, as well as physical and psychological changes that can have an impact on intimacy and/or sexuality. The sex therapist meets hospital patients and presents them with indications for individual or couple follow-up: concerns or difficulties with sexuality, sexual dysfunctions encountered.

Treatment focuses on getting to know your body and understanding the mechanisms that define sexuality. Patients can book an appointment up to 1 year after giving birth. ‘Offering this service to all women is a way of providing information, talking about sexual problems without taboos, and freeing up people to talk about sexual violence’.
