Frequently asked questions

1. What is the sophia service for people with diabetes?

2. Can health insurance cover transport costs ?

In certain situations, you may need to be transported for treatment, examinations or to return home after hospitalisation. The Assurance Maladie may cover your transport costs, if your state of health justifies it and subject to certain conditions.

Your transport, instructions for use

Your doctor has given you a medical prescription for transport because your state of health requires it.

  1. The medical prescription for transport issued by your doctor specifies the mode of transport you can use and any special conditions.  For example, you may need to be accompanied by a relative.
  2. You must comply with the mode of transport prescribed by your doctor unless you use a less expensive mode of transport.  For example, if your doctor has prescribed professional seated transport, but you are accompanied by a relative in a private vehicle.
  3. You take the necessary steps to be reimbursed.
